Frequently Asked Questions
What issues do you treat?
I work with a variety of presenting problems such as: feeling anxious, feeling depressed, navigating a life transition, relationship issues, pre-marital counseling, and women's issues.
What can I expect in the first session?
You can expect to go over a few administrative pieces like practice policies, confidentiality agreements, and reviewing paperwork. Then, we will explore what initiated seeking therapy and understanding what your goals are.
How long does therapy take?
Therapy duration is something we will collaborate on! Ultimately, we will set goals and explore what you need once those are met.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start out engaging in weekly therapy sessions to start and assessing if that's the best fit as we continue to work together.
Client Testimonial
"Becca is a therapist who truly cares about her couples, listens with empathy and insight, challenges individuals to shift their mindset, and creates a worthwhile experience designed to improve relationships for the long haul."
Do you offer in-person or online sessions (Telehealth)?
I offer solely virtual sessions via a HIPPA compliant platform for New York state and Illinois residents.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out of network provider with all insurance companies and can provide an invoice for you to submit for reimbursement, or most folks are able to use their HSA/Flex Spending card to cover session fees.
Why work with an out of network therapist?
Paying out of pocket for therapy allows privacy benefits - no diagnosis on your medical record or notes with vulnerable information submitted to your insurance company. Insurance benefits often limit the number of sessions, and you may have a high deductible which would lead you to paying fees out of pocket anyways. A lot of plans have great out-of-network benefits where your insurance company will reimburse your session fee.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
Yes, at times I can offer a sliding scale fee based on annual household income and need. Let's talk about it!
